About Treated Timber

What is Treated Wood?

It is wood that has been pressure-impregnated with preservative chemicals appropriately, so it can resistant to attack by decay fungi and termites. The treated wood can be painted or stained, but the color is only to show that the timber has been treated, it has nothing to do with how well the timber has been treated, so you must buy the branded treated wood as the manufacturer would stand behind their products and meet your various demand.

Which Species Can be Treated?

Usually the factory would treat one or two species only. Goodwood here highly recommend New Zealand grown Radiata Pine that FSC certified- a legally harvested sustainable resource that we have been dealt with more than 20 years with fully experience.

Treated Wood Standard

Below table is listed under Australian Standard AS/NZS1604 which the most important part is Hazard Class because it indicates the level of treatment or level of protection that must be applied to the wood. The Hazard Classes have been defined as follows:
